Land-Ho

Wednesdays at Preston Trail mean it is staff meeting day.  This one, however, involved a field trip.  Loading five cars we headed North up Preston to 380, then East towards McKinney until we turned into a division called La Cima.  We snaked back into the development for a mile and there it was on the right, 30 acres.

Our church is growing rapidly (commonly by more than 700+ people over a year ago).  We know that if we don’t find a future church site, we will have no where to go when we max out our current facility and 4 services in a little more than 2 years.

The land ownership is distressed and must be sold.  Our pastor Jim Johnson has been working diligently for a while now on the prospect of land, and this one has a lot going for in regards to a future church home.  First, it is close to a major thoroughfare by Highway 380.  Secondly, it boast access to three streets (which is important if you have tried to leave our current crowded parking lot that only has one street to enter and exit on).  Third, it is remarkably cheaper than the land around it due to the need to sale immediately.  It also has utilities available and has a wonderful view that looks to Mckinney to the East, Frisco to the South and Prosper to the the Northwest.  A partnership meeting will be held Sunday evening to disclose all the information and answer questions about the land (it is not definitive that we will purchase yet).

As the staff walked the soil, I got a little chill of excitement in knowing that this could be the future home of our church.  I couldn’t help but look at the houses in the distance and wonder who I might meet in a few years from those homes.  What their stories will be and how God might change their lives through Preston Trail Community Church.  Until then, we will continue to pray for our church’s future!
